Maintains and optimizes the technology systems used to manage human resources data and payroll processes.
A Day in the Life
Manage, configure, and optimize Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) for organizations in Sri Lanka. Bridge HR business processes and technology, ensuring accurate payroll, talent management, and HR analytics in enterprise systems.
- Administer HRIS platforms (SAP SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle HCM, or local systems)
- Configure workflows for payroll, leave management, and performance reviews
- Troubleshoot HRIS issues and coordinate with system vendors
- Extract and analyze HR data for management reporting (headcount, turnover, pay equity)
- Train HR staff on system usage and new features
- Coordinate HRIS upgrades and integrations with payroll and finance systems
- Ensure compliance with SL EPF/ETF regulations in payroll configuration
Work Environment
HR department or shared services center. Heavy system and data work — more IT-oriented than traditional HR. Serves as liaison between HR business partners and IT teams. May sit in Finance or IT department in some organizations.
Typical hours: 42h/week · WLB score 4/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
Generally good work-life balance. Payroll processing deadlines and HRIS implementation projects can require extra hours.
