Housekeeping supervisor

Supervise a team of room attendants on assigned hotel floors — inspecting rooms, managing workloads, handling guest requests, and ensuring consistent cleanliness standards are maintained.

• Assign room attendant daily workloads based on arrivals, departures, and stayovers
• Conduct room inspections on all completed rooms before releasing to Front Office
• Handle immediate guest complaints related to room cleanliness on assigned floors
• Coordinate with room attendants on special setup requests (VIP rooms, floral, amenities)
• Monitor linen and amenity supply levels and requisition from linen room
• Report to housekeeping manager on floor status, issues, and staff performance
• Train new room attendants on floor procedures and quality standards
• Ensure health and safety compliance on assigned floors

Hotel floors — inspecting rooms, coordinating with room attendants, liaising with Front Office. Active physical role with 8,000–12,000 steps per shift. First supervisory level in housekeeping career ladder.

Typical hours: 48h/week · WLB score 6/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime

Fixed shift but active physical work. International posting brings significant income increase with accommodation and meals included.

Typical progression: 2yr to mid · 5yr to senior

Floor-level management and quality inspection resist automation longer than manual cleaning tasks.

O/L or A/L graduate with hotel experience ready for first supervisory role, motivated by Maldives pathway and long-term hospitality management career.
