A Day in the Life
Be the first point of contact for hotel guests — managing check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, billing, and guest inquiries at the front desk of a hotel in Sri Lanka.
- Welcome arriving guests and complete check-in procedures
- Assign rooms, process payment, and issue key cards
- Respond to guest inquiries (local attractions, transportation, restaurants)
- Handle phone reservations and room queries
- Process check-outs and verify guest billing accuracy
- Coordinate with housekeeping for early check-ins and late check-outs
- Handle foreign currency exchange and credit card transactions
- Log guest requests and follow up on service delivery
Work Environment
Front desk of a hotel ranging from city business hotels in Colombo to beach resorts in Mirissa or heritage boutiques in Galle. Interacts with international tourists daily. English fluency is essential; additional languages (German, Chinese) are a significant advantage.
