A Day in the Life
Lead overall hospitality operations for a hotel, resort, or hospitality enterprise — managing multiple departments, ensuring guest satisfaction, developing staff, and driving commercial performance.
- Conduct daily operations briefing with department heads (Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping)
- Review previous day performance — occupancy, revenue, guest satisfaction scores (TripAdvisor, Booking.com)
- Handle VIP guest arrivals, complaints escalations, and service recovery
- Monitor revenue performance against budget and implement corrective actions
- Conduct regular inspections of all guest areas for quality standards
- Drive team development through coaching, training, and performance reviews
- Liaise with sales team on group bookings, rates, and package development
- Manage supplier relationships and operational procurement
Work Environment
Multi-department hotel or hospitality enterprise leadership role. Requires movement across all areas — lobby, restaurants, rooms, back-of-house. Public face of property and key decision-maker. Colombo 5-star, resort properties, and boutique luxury hotels.
