About This Role
Recruits Sri Lankan workers for overseas employment under a SLBFE (Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment) licence. Processes job orders from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, and Malaysia. Key roles recruited: domestic workers, factory workers, drivers, construction workers, healthcare workers. Agents must comply with SLBFE Act No. 21 of 1985 and cannot charge workers more than 1 month salary as agent fees.
A Day in the Life
Operate a SLBFE-licensed foreign employment agency in Sri Lanka, recruiting and placing Sri Lankan workers in overseas jobs in Middle East, South Korea, Japan, and other destination countries.
- Receive and verify job orders from licensed overseas employers and foreign agents
- Recruit and screen Sri Lankan candidates matching overseas employer requirements
- Conduct initial interviews and assess candidates' skills and language ability
- Coordinate medical examinations at SLBFE-approved medical centres
- Prepare and submit visa applications and SLBFE worker registration
- Arrange pre-departure training at NAITA or approved training centres
- Collect agency fees within SLBFE-prescribed limits and issue receipts
Work Environment
Agency office typically in Colombo 10/11 (Dematagoda, Maradana) or district towns. Interaction with job-seeking workers, overseas employers, and SLBFE officials.
