A Day in the Life

A Food Safety & Quality Lead is responsible for overseeing the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality systems within a specific area or shift of a food production facility. This role focuses on monitoring biological and chemical contaminants, ensuring compliance with standards, and leading a team of quality controllers.

  • Supervise and train quality control staff on food safety and quality procedures.
  • Monitor critical control points (CCPs) and ensure adherence to HACCP plans.
  • Conduct regular inspections of production lines, raw materials, and finished products.
  • Investigate and resolve minor quality deviations and non-conformities.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all quality checks and audits.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors to address and prevent quality issues.
  • Assist in preparing for internal and external food safety audits.
