A Day in the Life
A Food Quality Assurance (QA) Manager ensures that all food manufacturing processes comply with strict safety, hygiene, and industry quality standards. They oversee quality control, implement systems, conduct audits, and manage a team to maintain product integrity.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Food Safety Management Systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000).
- Oversee quality control procedures at various stages of production, from raw materials to finished goods.
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
- Manage and train a team of QA/QC inspectors and technicians.
- Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
- Prepare and present quality reports to management.
- Ensure all food labeling and packaging comply with local and international regulations.
- Stay updated on new food safety regulations and industry best practices.
Work Environment
Primarily works in an office setting within a food manufacturing facility, but regularly spends time on the production floor, in laboratories, and warehouses. The environment is typically clean and controlled, but can be noisy or involve exposure to different temperatures.
