A Day in the Life
A Food Microbiologist & Chemist combines expertise from both fields to comprehensively analyze food safety, nutritional chemistry, and microbial shelf-life. Their day involves conducting a wide range of tests, interpreting complex data, and ensuring food products meet stringent quality and regulatory standards.
- Performing chemical analyses for nutrients, additives, and contaminants
- Conducting microbiological tests for pathogens and spoilage organisms
- Developing and validating analytical methods for both chemical and microbial parameters
- Assessing and extending the shelf-life of food products
- Ensuring products comply with national and international food safety and quality regulations
- Collaborating with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams
- Analyzing complex data from diverse tests and preparing integrated reports
- Operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory equipment
Work Environment
