A Day in the Life

A Farm Automation & Tech Manager integrates and manages advanced technological solutions on farms. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining IoT devices, sensors, automated feeding/milking systems, and data analytics platforms to optimize animal production and overall farm efficiency.

Research and evaluate new farm automation technologies and software solutions
Design and implement IoT sensor networks for monitoring environmental conditions, animal health, and feed levels
Configure and maintain automated feeding, watering, and milking systems
Analyze data from sensors and automated systems to identify trends and areas for improvement
Troubleshoot technical issues with farm automation equipment and software
Train farm staff on the use of new technologies and systems
Collaborate with farm management to develop technology adoption strategies
Manage vendor relationships for technology procurement and support
