A Farm Automation & Tech Manager integrates and manages advanced technological solutions on farms. This involves designing, implementing, and maintaining IoT devices, sensors, automated feeding/milking systems, and data analytics platforms to optimize animal production and overall farm efficiency.
- Research and evaluate new farm automation technologies and software solutions
- Design and implement IoT sensor networks for monitoring environmental conditions, animal health, and feed levels
- Configure and maintain automated feeding, watering, and milking systems
- Analyze data from sensors and automated systems to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Troubleshoot technical issues with farm automation equipment and software
- Train farm staff on the use of new technologies and systems
- Collaborate with farm management to develop technology adoption strategies
- Manage vendor relationships for technology procurement and support
Work Environment
