An Export Compliance Officer (Fresh Produce) ensures that all horticultural goods meet the stringent international phytosanitary and quarantine regulations for export. Their day involves meticulous documentation, coordinating with customs and quarantine authorities, inspecting produce, and staying updated on global trade laws.

  • Research and interpret international phytosanitary regulations and import requirements for fresh produce in target markets.
  • Prepare and submit all necessary export documentation, including phytosanitary certificates, health certificates, and customs declarations.
  • Coordinate with quarantine officers and agricultural inspectors for pre-shipment inspections of fresh produce.
  • Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling of produce to meet destination country standards.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to prevent pest and disease outbreaks in exported goods.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to ensure smooth logistics.
