A Day in the Life
An Environmental Manager oversees an organization's environmental performance, ensuring compliance with regulations and implementing sustainable practices. This involves developing policies, conducting audits, managing waste, and leading environmental initiatives.
- Develop and implement environmental management systems (EMS) and policies (e.g., ISO 14001)
- Ensure organizational compliance with local and national environmental legislation
- Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to identify risks and areas for improvement
- Manage waste streams, pollution control, and resource efficiency programs
- Train staff on environmental awareness and best practices
- Liaise with regulatory bodies (e.g., CEA) and external stakeholders
- Prepare environmental reports and performance metrics for management
- Lead sustainability initiatives and projects (e.g., carbon footprint reduction, renewable energy)
Work Environment
