A Day in the Life
An EHS Lead is a senior professional responsible for guiding and overseeing the implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs within a specific division or site. Their day involves team leadership, complex problem-solving, compliance assurance, and fostering a strong safety culture.
- Lead and mentor a team of EHS officers and specialists
- Develop and implement site-specific EHS strategies and action plans
- Conduct advanced risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for complex hazards
- Ensure full compliance with national and international EHS regulations and company standards
- Oversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
- Manage EHS training programs and promote continuous improvement
- Liaise with senior management, regulatory bodies, and external consultants
- Drive initiatives to enhance environmental performance and worker safety culture
Work Environment
A mix of office-based strategic planning, team management, and administrative duties, combined with frequent site visits to industrial facilities, construction sites, or operational areas to oversee EHS implementation and conduct inspections.
