A Day in the Life
Be the ultimate guest resource at a hotel — providing personalized recommendations, arranging experiences, managing requests, and ensuring VIP guests have an exceptional, effortless stay.
- Welcome arriving guests and provide orientation to hotel facilities and Colombo
- Arrange restaurant reservations, tour bookings, spa appointments, and transport
- Provide insider recommendations for dining, attractions, and experiences in Sri Lanka
- Coordinate limousine, tuk-tuk, and chauffeur services for guest transportation
- Handle special requests (flowers, birthday cakes, surprise setups, restaurant surprises)
- Manage hotel front desk luggage and porter service
- Assist VIP and returning guests with personalized pre-arrival planning
- Maintain concierge knowledge base (current restaurant recommendations, events, tours)
Work Environment
Hotel lobby concierge desk — the face of the hotel for arriving and departing guests. High guest interaction environment requiring warm personality, encyclopedic local knowledge, and problem-solving ability. Elite concierge members join Les Clefs d'Or (Golden Keys) — the global concierge association.
Typical hours: 48h/week · WLB score 7/10 · OCCASIONAL overtime
